It's funny the way we order our food at the drive-through window. My husband will order a couple regular burgers for himself and me, and then, almost verbatim each time, order "A plain burger, no bun, no pickles, no onions, no ketchup, no NOTHIN', it's for my DOG." I sometimes visualize the order-taker laughing at him, because it's the same exact order every time.
After we get the order, we pull into a parking spot to eat. Dakota's burger is so steamy hot in the little styrofoam container, we literally set his package on the roof of the vehicle or on the ground while it cools. We always feel guilty eating our own, all the while knowing he is watching us and waiting for his own burger. We usually end up tearing off bits of our burgers and buns to keep him pacified while his burger is on the cool down process.
Finally the moment arrives when his meal is suitable to be eaten. It's no exaggeration to say, he will eat two patties in less than five seconds. We even break up the meat to slow him down but he still inhales it! After that, he moves on to a few french fries, which he also loves. It's just so much fun to watch him eat his McDonalds meal in sheer happiness.
